Sensory Perception in Autism and Asperger Syndrome

This book focuses on the role that sensory perception differences play in autism, as identified by people with autism themselves.
 The first part of the book covers the 'unusual' perceptual experiences and sensitivities that are often ignored by professionals. The second part focuses on assessment and intervention, along with practical recommendations for choosing appropriate methods and techniques that reduce problems while taking advantage of strengths.
 Olga Bogdashina (Dr.) works in the field of autism as a university professor and researcher, her area of expertise being sensory perception and communication problems in autism. She has been the director of the first Day Center for people with autism in Ukraine and has a 17-year-old son with autism. She is also the president of the Autism Association of Ukraine and a teacher of different courses and seminars in different countries. She is currently a professor at the University of Birmingham.
