✔For all those who have already taken the PECS 1 course and have started to implement the use of this communication system, it is likely that certain common implementation problems will arise, including difficulties in

discrimination and the most advanced troubleshooting strategies. The PECS 2 course allows us to work with our real difficult cases in which we have doubts to improve the implementation of PECS (you can work with the videos of the participants who inform us in advance). In addition to this, the incorporation of advanced language and communication will be worked on. Everything with the practical methodology, videos, debates, work in small groups as you know, we work in the PECS courses.

Below is detailed information for the two days:

📅First day: This first day focuses on a thorough review of how to implement each of the phases. The most common implementation problems, including discrimination difficulties and the most advanced troubleshooting strategies. Participants will practice their PECS skills under the supervision of Pyramid consultants, solve their own implementation problems, and watch PECS lesson sample videos. Participants are also encouraged to share their own successes and difficult cases. The goal is to respond to difficult cases in a way that does not simply “fix” the situation, but results in self-resolution. Videos of participants implementing PECS are accepted. Please contact in advance if you want your video to be seen during the training session.

📅Second day: During this day the incorporation of communication, advanced language and the implementation of PECS throughout the day is explored. Both understanding and receptive communication skills are explored with a focus on incorporating these skills into a variety of functional activities. Ideas for advanced language lessons are provided for students using any modality (eg: voice reproduction systems, sign language, speech, ...). The day ends with information specifically related to incorporating PECS opportunities throughout the day. Concepts are explored through a combination of videos, discussions, and small group activities.
